Your Brick Wall

wall-of-bricks-in-wayHave you ever had a brick wall in your way? You know, that wall that is what you think you want, and keeps you from what you really want, or rather… What is good for you? Today my wall got the best of me, and I would like to start off by apologizing because my wall postponed my blog post. I am sorry 🙂

Now then, let me explain better about what I mean by the brick wall. Sometimes we get so preoccupied with the simplicity’s we have nowadays, that we forget what we should be doing… or just don’t do it. For instance, video games! for me. Today I found a new adventure game on my phone, and it rocks! However, I did not spend time with God, and I also did not write my blog. hmm 😦

Some of you are focused on work, or stress, or regular daily life, that you forget about the children needing your time. Or that you should be spending some time every day, with God. I mean, how can you build a relationship with anyone, if you do not spend time with them??? yes, that includes God. You children, of course, need you to, and so does your spouse, some spouses need you more than your children. 😉

We need to be more careful about what we put our time into… because it becomes us. Look what Matthew says:

Matthew 6:20-21 (NIV)

20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

The first part basically tells me that I should not spend all my money on games, and toys… Things that break, decay, and people steal… Instead of loving my neighbor, donation, etc. But the next part hits HOME! “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also..” That means all my time I spent playing that game, I achieved nothing heavenly, nothing of good fruit or anything that glorifies God or even loves my neighbor. I did absolutely nothing that matters. Not only that but because I was focusing on something, not God related. I now have something in my heart that’s keeping me false happy, and clearly taking the place of God time, and what I should be doing.

I know it’s a game and this is obvious, however… Same goes for watching that TV all night, stressing about work, or even working more than you really need too. We hide behind things to keep ourselves busy, from what we should be doing. satan loves to keep us busy with things that have true value. Remember, we are living for heaven, this earth is temporary. This is not home! You do not get to keep your job, car, phone, games, house, etc. As Mark Cahill always says, “If it does not matter when you die, IT DOES NOT MATTER!”

But your legacy, what you leave behind for your kids, grandkids… that matters. Will Jesus say this to you?

Matthew 25:35-40 (NIV)

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

This is important people! If you get anything from this blog, get that our time is so short in this world. If you are older than 30, you know this! So Fast! DO NOT WASTE IT! This verse is so powerful for me, that just now reading it made me cry. Because my heart goes out for people who need me, need my helping hand. And to even think of Jesus asking for those things, or suffering, makes me cry. WOW.. did not know that myself until now.

But if I am focusing my time and energy on something that will not store up treasures in heaven, then I am not able to give the thirsty something to drink. In fact, if I am not spiritually looking for someone to bless, and instead busy gaming, then chances are, I will miss my chance. God wants us as his hands and feet… Sooo this is me, choosing the right path right now. I want to be gaming, but instead, I am using my struggle to help others. This one is going to be hard 😉

Is your show, worth it? is your Facebook game, worth it? is overtime worth it, if you can afford not too? People, as believers you need to wake up… God commanded us to share him, how many opportunities to save someone, will we miss before our short time is up? Go love on your family, neighbors and annoying boss. God Bless You All!
